I Did It!!!!

  Hello, all I did it! I published my first book on Inkitt. Here's the link to it https://www.inkitt.com/stories/1596236. I'm so proud of myself. Even if I get one reader, I'm still good. I posted the story for feedback and to see if I could just do it. So, you know if I can do it, you can too. And I'm not that good a writer yet!  So, for 2026, start writing that story that's in your head already.  Because we want to read it.

Never Enough

  Hello, all happy belated Holiday.  Hope during all this quiet time, you got some work done. I'm here to tell you, no matter how much editing you do yourself on your book, it's never enough. I have edited my book three times, and when I start to put it online, I still see that the book needs corrections. That is the least fun part of trying to be a writer: it's the editing that needs to be done. I know you're saying hire an editor to do it for you. that's all well and good, but I'm trying to do this a cheaply as possible while learning the trade myself. As much as I can, I want to learn about writing a book without the problem of spending a lot of money to do it.

So, what are your writing plans for 2026? also, if you need some good basic free writing instruction, try Reedsey. I love them. They will also help you format your book. Which I haven't tried yet.

Scary..

  Hello, it's scary to think that your stories are out on the net for people to read and comment on. I'm in the process of putting some of my stories on Inkitt ( will let you know when they are officially published) for them to be reviewed. I'm in the learning stage of becoming a writer. My stories are ok, but that's just me. I need to see what others think of them, good or bad. I've read some stories in my day that were both good and some not so good.  either way, the  good and not-so-good stories are out on Amazon. My thoughts were if you can write a bad book and people buy it, and I can think of a dark romance book I read that was horrible. The characters' story, plot line, was not edited correctly. Everything was wrong with this book, but yet on Amazon, they got rave reviews, go figure? Anyway, I'm taking my book writing shot and see what happens. Hope you do the same, take your shot, write that book or short story, and see what happens. Has scary as it is, take the chance and just do it!

My Short Stories

I enjoy writing these short stories.  They are easy and fun, you should try them sometimes. It makes writing the longer stories much easier. The one thing I will agree on when you listen to other authors who say you should read a lot, it does help you with your writing.  I read a lot, so when I edit a lot of my stories, some of the stuff that I have read comes back in my writing. So yes, it does help you write if you read a lot. Also, you get to see how others write, and some of that writing style you might want to take from it for your own stories. Just my thoughts on writing. What are some of yours?

Not Enough

  Hello all. Well, it's not enough. What I'm talking about is I have finished writing two novellas both 35-60 word count. From what I'm reading on boards like Reddit and others, that's not enough. I have written 12 very short stories already, which I will be posting monthly. I like short story writing.  Their easy to write and edit in an hour or so. Ok, I confess I write them and then I come back later to edit them. I've heard that if you want to post your stories online to places like Wattpad, Inkitt, and Amazon (for $$), the other two you just post to get reviews. Then you need to have more than just one or two books to post. Guess that makes sense. So, I'm working on fine-tuning my novellas that I have already finished. Then I'm going to start a new novella story, which I already have, it's just I keep changing the story. I'm a mess sometimes. 

This is just my hobby. I like to write. If I had to make a living from this, I would be starving because I really suck at it ( haha). So, what are you working on?   If you need some good suggestions, I would try Reddit. They have a lot of writers, advanced and beginners, with some good ideas. If you have a writing question or are not sure about something, you'll probably get your answers there. I'm hooked on using Reddit. Have a good writing day!

Shorts

 Hello there. Short stories: why you should think about writing them if you want to become an author. Short stories, I'm talking under 1000-word stories, are easy to write and edit. I just started writing some, and they have helped me a lot with writing longer stories. Ok, I confess I read a lot, so that also helps with my writing. But still, creating a short story is fun, especially if you're writing for a hobby like I am.  Just write whatever comes to mind, or a conversation overheard, or an action you saw two people do. That's what I do it when I write my short stories. They are either from my head or from watching people.
