So Many Thoughts

Hello all. So many thoughts when it comes to writing. I'm still in the baby steps part of really learning how to write, edit, and get the story flowing right. What I find is that writing short stories under 1000 words has helped me to write better. They are much easier than when I write my novella, or is it a novel, which consists of 60,000 or more words. Yes, I'm working on two as we speak. You can learn a lot from YouTube, and Reddit is becoming a must when it comes to helping me learns the dos and don'ts of where to post my store and how to format and all that other writing stuff. I have also learned that a good story will not take you weeks; sometimes it takes you years to complete. the best advice I keep hearing is to keep on writing. and that's just what I intend to do. I write for a hobby, and if I can get coffee and a book money from my writing, that's a plus in my book any day.

Another Short Story

Hello all, I think I'm getting the hang of this writing stuff. I just posted another one of my short stories, and here it is. I think I like writing short stories, well, the ones under 1,000 words. They seem easier to write. The only problem I seem to have is coming up with stories to write about. Do you have that problem with finding stories to write about? Some other writers say to use the writing prompts from other websites to write. To be truthful, I don't like any of the topics that they suggest. So, I wait until I see or hear something in my travels, and then I write about it. Like when I was on a cruise this past week. I had a few stories that I will share with you. I wrote about. Me being noisy helps a lot, anyway, here's my short story, the second one I wrote off the top of my head, no less.

Important Tool

Hello everybody. Who knew that you needed these important tools to be a writer? Especially if you're on the go a lot. I'm so used to my home computer until life started sending out the house to do things. I notice how much time I was wasting sitting in my car waiting for people who had a doctor's appointment. While I waited, I could be using a laptop to do some writing work. I recently went on a trip, and 80% of the people had their laptops doing work. I had mine too, but it was old and didn't get the job done. So now I'm in search of a cheap but good one. Hey, being a new writer, I can't afford $2,000 for a laptop just yet. Let my books make money first. Also, you need a good notebook and two to three working pens. I notice that on my trip for the last ten days, I got inspiration from the people around me to write short stories. So what I did was pull out my notebook and start writing the ideas down the old-fashioned way. Remember before computers. We used to write all our stuff down with a piece of paper and a pen? Well surprised that it still works for me anyway. So I got some good short stories from my trip. Also, you do need a cheap cellphone just in case you need to look things up on the internet real quick. I do have, but I also use my phone to take pictures for my book covers or my short stories when they get published. These are important tools of the trade, as one might say a laptop, notebook, pencil, pens, and a cellphone, and don't forget something to carry them all in.

So, what are your tools that you use for writing that I might have missed?

Seeking Ideas

Hello, have you ever tried to come up with ideas for short stories? I am in the process of writing short stories and trying to find out where to get my ideas from. Some say people watch and see if a story will come to you that way. I tried that it didn't.  Some say just write down ideas that  comes to your mind. Tried that nothing came to it. Some say ideas come from the movies you watch or the television programs  you see. These are all good suggestions. What works for me is that I just wait, and then an idea pops into my mind. Personally, I think I have a ghost in my head telling me what to write. By that's my crazy side talking. Anyway, if you write short stories, where do you get your ideas from?

Talk about how he got started writing his books and how he had to hustle in the beginning. Did I mention I love his stories? They are funny, realistic, and so much more. Enjoy

A.I. Is A Hot Mess!

Hello, all.  A.I., which stands for Artificial Intelligence, is a hot mess in a good and bad way. Here are my thoughts on it from a writer's point of view.  A.I. allows you to do so many things as a writer, get story ideas, make outlines, story titles, character information, and so many things that a writer needs to write. A.I. can do it for you. Heck if you look on YouTube, you will see where people are talking about how A.I. has written their books for them and they published them on Amazon for money. You can also see how A.I. Characters have taken over YouTube with characters that do talk shows, podcasts even movies. which I did see a movie that was totally A.I. generated, and it was good. I'm not knocking A.I. I'm just saying when it is too much. Using A.I. takes away your ability to think for yourself. Especially a writer. I will admit I use A.I. just for story ideas and maybe to give me information on writing styles, but then when I write a story, it's in my own words and most of it is from my own thoughts.

Is A.I. making us lazy writers? We want to make that fast buck, so we let something else do the work for us. Remember, even if you use A.I., you have to re-read what it has written for you because it's emotionless and can't grasp a lot of the feelings and concepts you might want to add in your book. I tried to create a character using A.I. just so I could get a visual when I write the story, and A.I. got it all wrong.

So, all I'm saying is think about your stories. yes, let A.I. help you if you need it, but don't let it take your creativity away from you because you're too lazy to use what god has blessed you with, which is your brain.  Also, remember when using A.I. it takes from many sources, so putting your complete faith in it who knows if you're not using someone else's stuff as your own? Just my personal thoughts.
